Hi, My name is Keri. I took my first yoga class in 2004 at a corporate fitness center in New York City. The following year I began practicing Ashtanga and fell in love with the style as a moving meditation. I completed my first 200-hr training at the Yoga Center of Minneapolis in 2006 and my 500-hr advanced training in Ashtanga and Vinyasa Flow at YCM the following year. I’ve been fortunate to study with many senior teachers including David Swenson, Manju Jois, Larry Schultz, Dharma Mittra, Tias Little, Seane Corn, Eoin Finn, Tanya Boigenzahn, and Darren Main, all of whom have helped to shape my practice and teaching style.
After stepping away from my practice for several years due to illness, I’ve found more depth and peace on my mat, and my meditation cushion, than ever before. I returned to teaching with a renewed sense that yoga should be accessible to everyone, regardless of ability. I keep my classes open to questions and teach a variety of pose options so that each student can find the pose that is right for their body on that day.
After several years in Seattle and the Park City area of Utah, I’m now back in Minneapolis with my husband, dog, cat, and a backyard full of bunnies and chipmunks. When I’m off my mat, I work as a business consultant and write novels and short stories for teens.
